1.Tell us briefly about Arada Designs.
We started as the in-house florist for Hotel Maya in Kuala Lumpur and have, over the past year, provided full floral services, including weddings.

2.What do you think has attributed to your success this past year?
I believe it is the level of service and commitment we give to each client. We strive to get every single detail right and will go the extra mile to make their dream wedding a reality. I have personally flown to Shanghai for a Shanghai-themed wedding as well as to Japan and my homeland, Thailand. Creating the ambiance for our client’s big day is our priority.

3.Besides floral decorations, what other services do you offer?
Basically everything you need to create a fantastic wedding! We do drapes, backdrop designs, staging, décor for pews and aisles.

4.What are your charges for wedding florals and décor?
Our prices start from RM5,000.

5.What is your top tip for a memorable wedding?
Be creative with your wedding theme and colours. You would be surprised how little it takes just to add a little edge and personality to make your big day truly memorable and completely you.

Destination photography is becoming increasingly popular with Malaysians. Where are some of your favourite destinations?
Destination weddings and photography are fantastic, non-traditional ways for fabulous wedding and portrait photos, not to mention unique and completely refreshing. Our photographers are no strangers to destination pre-wedding and portrait photography. Some of our most outstanding work features the beautiful landscapes in Bali, Cambodia, Agra, Jaipur, Rajastan, Venice, Amsterdam, London, Perth, Dublin and many others.

How do you personalize wedding photography to each couple?
It is essential to get to know the couple well so they are comfortable sharing their ideas, thoughts, expectations and personalities with us before we create a drawing board for their photoshoot. Beautiful pictures are only as good as their significance to the beholder.

How do you give your couples their distinctive style?
The style must complement the couple. Capturing their expressions is the most important thing, not so much the “glamour” poses. Our priority is to capture the happy, endearing moments where our clients are at their best. It is easy to get a pose, but it takes a special kind of skill and character to spark the laughter and great moments naturally; and that is what we are here for.

What kind of wedding photography is currently most popular?
Portraiture that depicts natural emotions and feelings. Posing unnaturally for a shot is passé. The most meaningful photos are those that are natural, artistic, realistic – shots of you feeling and looking your best, being with the person or people who mean the most to you.

Between pre-wedding and wedding day photography, which is more significant of the two?
They are both important. While your pre-wedding photoshoot is something you may redo if you didn’t like it, your wedding day photography takes place only once, which is why you must always hire a highly-recommended professional and do not go for the least expensive.

How many photographers do you assign for photoshoots?
For any photoshoot, we always assign at least two photographers. For certain conditions such as a pre-wedding shoot executed with a commercial photography approach, we assign more than two as many lighting setups and logistics are involved.

What are your rates like?
Our rates start from RM2,020.

What are your top tips when it comes to hiring wedding photographers?
• Always hire reputable professionals with excellent references; you do not want your wedding photographs to look anything less than perfect!

• It is crucial to meet your shortlisted photographers – a phone call or e-mail does not work. Great photographers are artists and need an impression of their subject before creating a drawing board that best suits your physical features, aspirations, style and personality.

Inspiration is an essential aspect of our work, and it can come from anywhere, such as interior design as well as any source of reading or visual materials. Describe your process for personalizing the floral decor of your client’s wedding theme.
The first and most essential step is to talk to the couple and establish.

A colour theme that they have in mind. The style and colour schemes of their attire, especially for the bride and her bridesmaids, and

A particular style or mood that they fancy, such as fun, romantic, simple and elegant, traditional or grand.

In many cases, couples come to us without an idea about what they would like for their wedding theme. But don’t worry! Our experience tells us that every couple has specific preferences that relate to their personalities. Therefore, understanding our clients is most essential in creating the most unforgettable wedding for them. Our goal is achieved when we see their smile and receive heartfelt appreciation and compliments from our couples, their parents and their guests.

When should couples confirm their weddings with you?
Preferably, at least six months ahead. This is so that we have time to understand our client’s needs, and come up with a concept, wedding theme, flower choices, etc. This is especially important if their preferred flowers are seasonal or if they need to be sourced from overseas.

What is your top tip to couples planning their wedding?
Share as much of your thoughts and ideas with us as possible!

First : Call and ask for the availability of your wedding/event dates.
Second : Make an appointment with our personnel. Meeting with our personnel will give you a better understanding of what we do. You can view our latest work and also discuss on a suitable package for you wedding. Our personnel will advice on how many cameras you will need for capturing your wedding. Remember, each wedding is different. Don’t worry, all of this consultation is free of charge even if you do not hire us.
Third : At the end of the meeting, we will come out with a quotation based on the discussion. If you would like to proceed with Manggis you will need to make a booking fee to make sure we reserve your dates.

How can I book and do you require a booking fee?

Booking fee is 20% on the overall total of your package. This booking fee is non refundable. Verbal confirmation without the booking fee is not acceptable.

One month before your event, you may need to make another 50% deposit and the remaining balance is upon delivery of your wedding dvds/photo albums.

We accept cash, cheque, credit card(accepted in manggis office only) and you can bank in to our maybank account via maybank2u. However you need to fax/email the receipt of the transaction if its been made online. Once we received, then only we will issue you the official receipt from Manggis.

What if I need time to think or look for another options, just to make sure that I chose the right company to capture my big day?
We always like our potential client to go and browse other vendor as well. Its your wedding, decide whatever you love. However, we work on first come first serve basis. Do not take too much time browsing, you might loose the dates to somebody else.

When will the wedding dvds or photo album ready for delivery?

It will take around 4-6 weeks after your last event. The editing process involves a dedicated level of commitment and a LOT of man hours. We don’t just copy the footage from the camera straight onto a DVD. It is the audio editing, music matching, transition creation, opening titles, rendering, compositing and DVD authoring that takes the time… but we love what we do and we are proud of our creations!

Do I get to sit with the editor during the editing process?

No. When you hire us means you have put trust on our creativity.

How soon should I book your services?
“Sooner is better than later!” We book Full and Partial Wedding Planning packages well in advance (up to two years) but only book Day of Coordination / DOC packages up to one year in advance.

While we try to update our calendar found on the “Contact Us” section, please contact us for our availability.

How much notice do you need to book Day of Coordinator Services?

If we’re not booked, we’re available!

What is required for booking your services?
We require a signed contract and a non-refundable $100 deposit to book our Day of Coordination Services (Something Blue/Something Old/Something Borrowed/Something New) and a 30% non-refundable deposit to book our Full or Partial Service Planning Package (Silver Sixpence.)

What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept personal checks, money orders, bank/certified checks, and Debit/Credit payments through Paypal.com. If you would like to pay via Paypal, please contact us in advance.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Deposits are not refundable. However, any payments made towards our services are fully refundable up to three (3) months prior to your event with written notice.

Are there discounts for “off-season” brides?
For our January 1 through March 1 brides, we provide a discount of 15% off our Something Blue and Something Old packages only.

How do I order products and other creative services ?
Please contact us with all your questions, and a representative will gladly provide a quote, delivery estimation, and other details.

Do you work with an assistant?
Depending on your needs, we will provide an assistant for an additional fee.

What happens if my Coordinator is sick?
We will be sure to provide you with an alternate coordinator should the need arise. You will be notified in advance and the replacement coordinator will be well informed of your needs.

Can I add products or services after I’ve signed the contract?
Of course you can! We will work with you to suit your needs and draft another contract if necessary.

Do you offer product or service package discounts?
The more the better! We will discount high quantities.

How many hours are included on the day of the wedding?
Our standard packages include 10 hours of service on the day of your wedding.

What about tipping?
We get this question a lot! As with other vendors who are out there working hard to make sure your day is everything you dreamed of, gratuities are of course appreciated, but certainly not a requirement.

What benefits do I have for using your “preferred vendors?”
We pride ourselves on reputation and excellent service. Our preferred vendors may offer a discount at their discretion should you mention that you are a client of ours.

What is the best way to contact?
We prefer email as it enables us to keep your information organized best. We will respond to all emails within 24-hours during the week and within 48-hours on weekends as we are often working at this time.

What is the difference between a Day of Coordinator and a Bridal Attendant, Event Coordinator, or Banquet Manager provided to me by my reception site?
A Bridal Attendant, Event Coordinator, or Banquet Manager provided to you by your site is employed by your reception site. They will ensure that your reception runs smoothly while you are at the venue. They are employed by the reception site and not by you personally and are limited to what services they can extend to you.

A Day of Coordinator (DOC) is employed by you solely and will work with you during the entire duration of planning and will be with you from the moment you wake up in the morning to the moment you lay to rest at the end of your special day. We will be the point-person for yourself, guests, and vendors should any problems arise. We are capable of being “your brain” for the entire day.
