You are very popular among high profile clients in Malaysia and abroad. How different are their requirements? They are usually more willing to give a free hand to the professional to do the job however he or she sees fit. I suppose when you have a typical guest list of 1,000 and sometimes more, you really have to trust the professional!

Can you name some “celebrity” clients whose weddings you have photographed? Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, Paula Malai Ali, YAM Tunku Miratun MAdihah (Tunku Myra), Hong Ju Khee, Jeslina Hashim, Shirieene Hajamaideen and Shahleen Cheah.

What is key to a successful event documentation? Proper briefing and communication with the client, especially before the wedding. As you can imagine, it would be difficult to talk to your clients on the day!

When a couple is planning their wedding, what aspect should they most pay attention to? Photography is a key aspect and a couple should put some thought into their wedding album. After the wine is drunk, and the food consumed, memories and photographs are what is left. I believe these are more than just wedding photographs, they are an heirloom for the future generations.

What is a decent budget to allocate for a professional photographer? At least 10-15 percent of the total budget.

Any tips to share with the happy couple? The most important thing is to smile and be confident. The rest sounds like doctor’s advice – get plenty of sleep, take vitamin C and drink lots of water (just not too much on the actual day). Lack of any of the mentioned will show!
